Beginning in the past

It’s ok
to be biased
to love some
hate others
To feel joy
and fear
it will be snatched away
It’s ok
to hurt
to feel
and say aloud
I’m not ok
It’s ok
to be speechless
without answers
To find
a luminous vacancy
on the other side
of despair
And call it
hope
It’s ok
to grieve again
each tear
insufficient
It’s ok
to say a prayer
not believing
and say it again
just in case
It’s ok
to be alone
unable to share
holding too tightly
to love
It’s ok
to gather your strength
for tomorrow
and wait
expectantly
